Before 1998 there was "DALLUS" brand registered in Russia by The London Tobacco Company Limited. This enterprise also tried to register the "DALLAS" trademark in Russia, but the inquiry was refused as the city of Dallas is situated in the USA, so it could somehow confuse the consumer in what considered the manufacturing country. In 1998 Dallas Tobacco Leaf Co. Ltd. Inc. which is situated in Texas, USA, registered a label and combined it with the DALLAS brand name.
